Transformers One: Review

 A heartfelt story that will thrill longtime fans of the franchise.

The story line was so much more serious than the trailers made it out to be. I loved seeing Megatron's descent into the leader we all know from the films and shows. The story also had a lot more lore to it than I was expecting, loved the other race that would battle the Transformers, and I hope to see them again in a possible sequel! One of the benefits of not having the humans in this film, was that it allowed the film to focus on one single story line, without a bunch of human side plots, which has effected some of the films in the franchise in the past.

The voice acting was amazing! While I was against casting Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime, he grew on me as the film went on, and I see him as the eventual successor to Peter Cullen when he does eventually retire. Brian Tyree Henry was another casting choice I wasn't too fond of initially, but I loved how Brian made the character's voice go deeper and deeper as the film went on, and I was so glad that they did that. I hope in a sequel his voice continues to get deeper and deeper. All the other voice actors did great as well, and I was also glad that they brought back the same actor who voiced Soundwave in Bumblebee, he did a great job.

The action scenes were up there as the best of the franchise. I loved how creative they were with the action scenes, and I hope that the G.I. Joe Transformers crossover movie keeps this up. That final battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron gave me Transformers: Prime vibes, in a great way! Really impressed with how they pulled it off!

In terms of a sequel, there are so many possible routes for them to go! I really hope the sequel is titles, "War For Cybertron", and then the third film is titled, "Fall of Cybertron". It would be the best route for them to go, and it would generate a lot of hype for the series. I really hope that this movie gains a lot of momentum going forward, as the box office results have not been very good here in America.

For a sequel, I really hope to see more characters from the movies and shows that I recognize. With them just doing animation, they could introduce so many new characters, while not making it feel overstuffed! Please gain some momentum going forward!
