My Review of "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse"

I really felt that this film was heavily overrated, but it did have some strong points.

The animation was very different. While I was expecting to not like it, I actually began to like it as the film went on. Hope they make more films with this animation in the future.

The story line felt a little to cliche. I also felt that it lacked heart to it, something I feel that every live action Spider-Man film has. The story line could have been worse, but it should have been much better.

The characterization was very good, and I feel that it was the strong point. While I wish they had used certain characters more, I felt the standout characters were Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Spider-Ham. I was mixed on Miles' character.

The voice cast was awesome. The directors certainly knew the right moves. The standouts in my opinion were Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Nicolas Cage, and John Mulaney.

The humor was decent. While some of the character looks, and actions were great, I felt the film lacked some good one liners.

Overall, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, while suffering from a medicore story line and lack of good one liners, heavily benefited from its strong characterization, awesome voice cast, and incredible animation.

Out of 4 stars I would give it...

3 out of 4 stars.
