Bumblebee is an emotional, heartfelt, and well written film. From the beginning sequence that features the fall of Cybertron, to its strong characterization, Bumblebee is no doubt one of the best films of the year.
It also features some outstanding visual effects, epic action scenes, clever humor, plenty of nostalgic moments, terrific 80's music and cars, and strong performances from Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena.
Travis Knight proves that he is a worthy successor to Michael Bay to helm the franchise. While it was somewhat disappointing to realize that this is a reboot, I understand that fans were not impressed with the previous films (although I was), and that they needed to go old school to win their favor back, and I believe that they have done it, based on what I am hearing.
Out of 4 stars I would give it...
