Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire: Review

Another fun and cool adventure in the Ghostbusters series.

The story line was really fun, and it had a lot of heart to it as well! I loved all the neat callbacks to the original Ghostbusters movie that it had. The family dynamic was easily the heart, and the best, part of the movie. I was really glad that the original Ghostbusters had more screen time in this movie, and I loved how they addressed that they are getting older.

The acting was amazing! Paul Rudd has not lost any of his charm over the years, and he was the perfect choice for this franchise. Mckenna Grace continues to show that she was the best casting choice of the entire family. I cannot get over how much she really does look like Harold Ramis, pitch perfect casting. Dan Akroyd was hilarious in this movie, so glad he had a bigger role. Patton Oswalt, despite only having one scene in the movie, was so funny!

The action scenes were so exciting! Anytime they have a chase sequence that involves the car, I get the biggest smile on my face! Loved all the new gadgets that they gave the Ghostbusters in this movie! So nostalgic!

I only had 2 problems with this movie. 1. I really wish that Trevor and Lucky had more screen time together. I was really looking forward to seeing their friendship develop into a romantic relationship, so I was kind of disappointed that they had no screen time together. 2. I thought the pacing was a little bit off compared to the last one. But it was still fun!

They can do so much for a sequel. I really hope they bring back Vigo from the 2nd movie, and I hope John Noble portrays him. Plus, it would mean that they would hopefully bring back Peter MacNicol as Janosz Poha! I also want Trevor and Lucky to have more screen time together, and I kind of hope that Podcast and Phoebe develop crushes on each other, as they feel like the perfect duo!

Madame Web: Review

Very cheesy, but very fun at the same time!

The story line was so early 2000s, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't just have a fun time. Yes, it had so many plot holes and unresolved answers, but I genuinely just had a fun time with the movie. I really liked the concept of Cassandra trying to stop the future, and I enjoyed a lot of the film's humor.

The acting was solid. Dakota Johnson was about as good as she could've been. Sydney Sweeney was easily the best actress in the movie. I loved how she was almost like a gender swapped Peter Parker, because of how awkward her character was. I loved her. Adam Scott was great as a young Uncle Ben as well.

The action scenes were fun. While they were nothing groundbreaking, it was still fun watching Dakota Johnson's facial expressions throughout the action scenes. The visuals in this movie looked amazing as well IMO.

I know that they will never make a sequel to this movie, because of how badly it bombed at the box office, but I really hope that some of the characters come back in "Secret Wars". Mainly because Sydney Sweeney was perfect as Julia, and I want to see her in her suit more!

Again, not a perfect movie by any means, but I just genuinely had a fun time with it!

Dune: Part Two: Review

Spoilers Ahead!!!

Dune's second part exceeds the first film in every way, while creating one of the greatest Sci-Fi adaptations of all time!

The story line was so good. I started reading the books shortly after watching the first part back in 2021, and I am already halfway through the 4th book, and I can say that it was a faithful adaptation of the first Dune book. Denis Villeneuve knew the task, and managed to stay the course of the book, and I am so glad that he made sure that this was a morally grey movie. This was something I was a bit worried about, but he did such a good job at staying faithful to the story line from the books.

The acting was amazing! Timothée Chalamet absolutely crushed his role as Paul Atreides. Chalamet did a great job at showing his tragic turn towards the last act. He continues to show he has a bright future ahead of him, and that he is a very versatile actor. Zendaya played Chani to perfection. I will admit, when I first read the book, I did not picture Zendaya as Chani, I pictured Florence Pugh or Rachel Zegler in that role, but I was glad that she managed to exceed expectations. Austin Butler knocked it out of the park as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Again, not the actor I originally pictured for that role, I personally wanted Robert Pattinson or Bill Skarsgård, but I knew he was perfect the moment he showed up. Javier Bardem was great as Stilgar. I was surprised at how many funny lines he had, but it helped kind of lighten the mood, which was nice. I personally pictured Joseph Mawle as Stilgar, but Bardem was great. Rebecca Ferguson was perfect as Lady Jessica. She did a great job at showing how manipulative Jessica was, and how she used the Fremen's hopes for her own benefit. So well acted on every level!

The visuals were so amazing! I was lucky enough to watch this on an IMAX screen, and man did that enhance the viewing experience. I haven't seen visuals this good on the big screen in years. They really did remind me of visual effects from the Lord of the Rings series. So glad they made the worms look so cool!

The action scenes were so stunning! Again, so glad I saw this on the IMAX. The sets shaking during the sandworm riding scenes were so amazing. I am glad that they showcased the action scenes, unlike the book which skimmed over them.

I am so excited to see how Denis Villeneuve will adapt Dune: Messiah. If done right, this could be even better than this movie, and it would make Dune one of the greatest Sci-Fi trilogies of all time. Also, I absolutely loved the casting of Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides. That is exactly who I pictured in that role, and she is going to dominate the screen in Dune: Messiah.

One final thing. I really hope Denis Villeneuve adapts Children of Dune. This is my favorite book in the series so far, and it would be the perfect conclusion of the franchise by Denis Villeneuve. It would just feel wrong to adapt Dune: Messiah without doing Children of Dune IMO.
