My Review of "Aladdin (2019)"

Disney, you have done it again.

The story line hit home for me, and the changes made to it were really good. Guy Ritchie's direction and screenplay were excellent, Disney made the right choice in hiring him as the director.

The characterization was good as well. While many argued that the characterization and portrayal of Jafar was weak, I heavily disagree. I feel that he was the best actor in the film, and that his backstory was something the original film lacked.

The acting was strong as well. While Will Smith is not a better Gene then Robin Williams, he certainly was still a great casting choice. The casting of Jafar I felt was the best part of the movie. Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott were perfectly cast as Aladdin and Jasmine as well.

The musical numbers were great. They all had really good singing voices. The standout songs were "Never had a friend like me", "A Whole New World", and "Arabian Nights". The visuals in the movie were really good also, don't care what the critics said.

Overall, Aladdin delivered thanks to Guy Ritchie's unique and great direction, strong visuals, great musical numbers, solid characterization, and strong performances from Marwan Kenzari, Will Smith, Naomi Scott, and Mena Massoud, to make this another great film to put on Guy Ritchie's already incredible resume.

Out of 4 stars I would give it...

4 out of 4 stars
