Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Review

Spoilers ahead!!!

Sonic's 3rd film wraps up the first trilogy in a great way, while setting the stage for a new trilogy that could be even better!

The film's story line went about the way that I expected it to go! Loved the characterization that they gave Shadow, and how you really felt for him, and understood why he went the way that he did! Loved the heartfelt moments that the film had as well! They had a lot of really good character payoffs as well! 

The acting was really good! Jim Carrey stole the show with his portrayal of both Dr. Robotniks. Keanu Reeves was perfectly cast as Shadow the Hedgehog, I mean it was too obvious of a casting choice. All the other actors did their job well, but Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves definitely stole the show as their respective characters.

The action scenes were so good! Loved that they played, "Live & Learn" towards the end! That was the big huge payoff! I also liked that they showed how powerful Sonic can really be! Shadow's Super Form looked amazingly perfect as well!

I did have a complaint though, I wish the film was a little bit longer, so that they could flesh out a few more scenes. But that is about it! It is still the best of the trilogy (I re watched the first two films and changed my score for those from a 4 to a 3.5 for the first and second movie).

The post credits scenes were so good! Loved the arrival of Metal Sonic and Amy! I am really hoping that Natalie Portman is the voice actress for Amy. I am very curious as to who created Metal Sonic, hope it is a good reveal! The fourth film is going to be so good, and I am very excited to see what kind of direction the franchise takes.

Shadow is definitely getting his own movie! The film would be a massive success, if written right!

I doubt we have seen the last of Dr. Eggman as well. Jim Carrey plays that role way too well! He will return in the 5th or 6th film, or in the post credits scenes of the 4th film IMO.

Out of 4 stars I would give it...

Gladiator II: Review

I was entertained!

The story line in this film was a lot different than I was expecting! I loved that Maximus really wasn't able to stop the corruption of Rome from spreading. When the corruption runs so deep, it is really hard to try and dig it all out! The story line did not have the heart that the original one did so well with!

The acting in this movie was amazing! Paul Mescal was perfect casting as Lucius! He really looked like he could've been Russell Crowe's son! Denzel Washington stole the show IMO. You hated him so much, and you had no idea what he was going to do next! Pedro Pascal's role was so much different than what I was expecting! You felt so bad for him! Connie Nielsen showed that she has still got it! Joseph Quinn & Fred Hechinger did a great job as the twin Emperors! Both were so crazy, and unstable, loved their performances a lot!

The action scenes were really good as well. But they were not as memorable as the original film. They just lacked the personal feeling that the first film's action scenes had. 

They have definitely left the door open for a sequel! I am curious as to what kind of direction they will take, and if it will end the trilogy on a positive note!

I knew going into this film that it would not top the original film in any way shape or form, but I was still surprised at how good it was!

Out of 4 stars I would give it...
