While the story line had plenty of heart to it, it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a lot more training montages, and more callbacks to the original. Still had good heart, and plenty of character development to help it.
The acting was outstanding. Tom Cruise gave a great performance as usual, and Miles Teller knocked it out of the park as Rooster. The supporting cast was good as well, even if their characters weren't as memorable as the characters in the original. Val Kilmer's performance was great, glad to see him again.
The action scenes and musical score were well worth the price of admission. I loved that they played Danger Zone at the beginning! Loved that theme!!!
There is nothing else that they need to do for a sequel. Ended on a great note.
