2022 Movies I've Seen
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish: Review
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was well worth the 11 years that it took to make this sequel, and it is easily my favorite movie in the Shrek Franchise.
The story line in this movie was very witty, and well written. I loved the way the story was handled, and I was also really glad that the movie did not get bogged down by bad pacing. The story also had a lot of good themes, and plenty of heart to it.
The voice cast was outstanding! Antonio Banderas still sounded great as Puss in Boots, even though it has been 11 years since the last film. Salma Hayek, while sounding like she had aged in the past 11 years, was still charming as ever as Kitty Softpaws. Florence Pugh was perfect as Goldilocks, even if it was hard to tell it was her because of the fact that she was using her natural British accent and not her fake Russian one LOL. John Mulaney as "Big" Jack Horner stole the show!
The new characters were amazing. Goldilocks and the three bears were more entertaining than I expected them to be. "Big" Jack Horner was no doubt the best character in the movie. His one-liners were drop dead hilarious. I was shocked that Jiminy Cricket was in the movie, and man did he have some great scenes as well.
In terms of a sequel, I have heard that a 5th Shrek movie is in development. If that is true, I really hope that Kitty Softpaws is in it. I am also wondering how they are going to top "Big" Jack Horner, that guy was the best villain in the franchise! I am so excited to see how they proceed!

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery: Updated Review
After thinking more about Glass Onion, I was not too thrilled with the twist, and I felt the characters and humor were better written in the original film. Still a good movie though!

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery: Review
Glass Onion had big shoes to fill, and it does the unthinkable by outdoing the first film in many ways!
The story line was amazing. I loved all of the different twists and turns that came with it. I was really glad that it did not feel like a copy and paste of the original movie. Rian Johnson did a great job at how he handled the direction this movie took, while still having a lot of humor, and character development to go along with it.
The acting was amazing. While the cast and characters were better in the first film, the cast and characters still held their own very well. Daniel Craig once again was hilarious as Benoit Blanc. Edward Norton had a much bigger role than I was expecting, and he did a great job at how he portrayed his character. Janelle Monae absolutely stole the show with her dual performance, easily the best actor in the film.
There are plenty of directions they can go in a sequel. I really hope that Rian continues to add a unique twist to his movies, while keeping the same style of direction he brings to the table.
My dream cast for a sequel are Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Hayden Christensen, Bryce Dallas Howard, Woody Harrelson, and Blake Lively. This would be a fun cast!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: Review
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a surprisingly good movie that improves on the first film in every way!
The story line was very sobering, and emotional! I loved the change in tone for this movie, compared to recent MCU movies, in terms of well timed humor! I really hope that they cut down on a lot of humor going forward in the MCU, and make more movies like this! Only small problem I had with the plot was the social justice message involving Namor's agenda, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
The acting in this movie was amazing! Letitia Wright as Shuri was easily the best part of the movie! She brought so much heart to her character, and I love the way her character has matured since the first movie! Angela Bassett's performance as Queen Ramonda was a powerful one. She brought a lot of humanity to a character that could have easily been one dimensional. Danai Gurira as Okoye was a good performance as well, no doubt her best performance in the MCU. I was pleasantly surprised that Julia Louis-Dreyfus had more screen time, she is a very well written character.
The visuals and action scenes were excellent! They looked a whole lot better in this movie, than they did in the first Black Panther. I also felt that the action scenes had a lot more weight to them than the first Black Panther film.
They can still do another Black Panther film, even if I have no idea what route they will take. I really want to see Shuri again as well, she is easily becoming one of my favorite characters in the MCU.
Juliet Louis-Dreyfus's role sets up the plot of the Thunderbolts movie! I am really looking forward to that movie, and hope that it does not let me down!

Enola Holmes 2: Review
While the twist was a major disappointment, Enola Holmes 2 has plenty of charm to remain a good movie.
The story line was fun. I did love the mystery surrounding it, and the fact that they put real life events into the story. The twist for me ruined it though! Moriarty is supposed to be a male, and he is supposed to be white, not a black female!
The acting in this movie was really good also! Henry Cavill once again stole the show as Sherlock Holmes! Millie Bobby Brown continues to impress me with her range of acting. David Thewlis, though underused, made the most of his role. I really wish David Thewlis had portrayed Moriarty! Helena Bonham Carter was again fun as Eudoria Holmes!
The chemistry between Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge was a huge reason why I loved the movie, and why I want a sequel. They are charming together, and I hope to see a sequel where Tewkesbury proposes to Enola, and another one where they get married at the end! Please make it happen!
The ending with Dr. Watson was a disappointment! Just not too fond of the actor they chose to play him. But I do hope to see more of Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, though that seems unlikely due to the fact that he will be portraying Superman more often! #RestoreTheSnyderVerse and #BringBackZackSnyder.

Top Gun: Maverick: Quick Second Opinion Review
After watching it for a second time not too long ago, Top Gun: Maverick exceeds the original in every way possible!
Great movie, loved everything about it!

Black Adam: Review
While predictable, Black Adam is ambitious, and it looks like DC is finally on the right track again!
The story line was fun, but very predictable! Hopefully the future DCU movies stop this trend. I know that Black Adam is supposed to be a villain, but I liked the tone of this character, compared to Venom and Morbius in their solo movies.
The acting was very good! Dwayne Johnson was perfect as Black Adam, definitely the superhero role that fit him the most! Pierce Brosnan did a great job as Doctor Fate! I really hope to see more of him in future DCU movies! Marwan Kenzari was entertaining as the villain, even if he made a better Jafar! The supporting cast, like Atom Smasher and Cyclone, have plenty of potential for a future!
The visuals and action scenes were the best part about this movie! They definitely had a Zack Snyder kind of vibe to it! The visuals certainly looked better than what I saw from Thor: Love and Thunder! I was glad that the action scenes were brutal, compared to previous DC movies!
In terms of a sequel, they could easily have Black Adam fight Shazam! in a sequel! Or, based on what the post credits scene implied, we could be getting Black Adam Vs Superman! Even Hawkman, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher deserve their own movie! I really hope that Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate returns in a future project as well!
The return of Henry Cavill was something that I needed to give me hope that DC plans on Restoring Zack Snyder's vision! We need Zack Snyder's Justice League 2 & 3, and Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie where he fights Slade Wilson/Deathstroke. With the announcement of another solo Superman movie with Henry Cavill, I want the villain to be Brainiac, and I want either Zack Snyder, Joseph Kosinski, or Christopher McQuarrie to direct it! Please WBD, do not screw this up!

Lightyear: Review
Lightyear squanders a potentially exciting and ambitious film that could have spawned a huge franchise, instead the director went for a cliche story line, made the characters dull and poorly written, and the huge twist with Zurg was so bad. Zurg should have been Buzz's dad! The voice acting was terrible as well, I wish that Tim Allen had voiced older Buzz/ Zurg, or they should have had Tim Allen just come back along with Andrew Stanton as Zurg!
Only good things about it were Sox the cat, and the musical score!

Jurassic World: Dominion: Review
While nothing groundbreaking, Jurassic World: Dominion is a fun and exciting finale for the franchise!
The story line, while simple, was a lot of fun! It was neat seeing how the group of characters all came together at the end. The film had a lot of fun Easter Eggs and callbacks to the previous film, especially the shaving cream! The film had a lot of good humor as well!
The acting was outstanding, for what it was worth! Jeff Goldblum stole the show as Dr. Ian Malcolm once again, and he certified himself as my favorite character in the franchise! Laura Dern and Sam Neil did a great job as well, and their chemistry is still as good as ever! Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard also did a good job!
The action scenes were intense as heck! The motorcycle chase in Italy was a very intense scene. The forest scenes were intense as well. The visual effects were outstanding as well, all of the Jurassic Park/World movies nailed the visual effects!
There is nothing they can do for a sequel. The franchise has officially run its course, and it is time to retire this franchise! It stayed consistent for the most part, and was a fun and exciting franchise!

Morbius: Review
While it starts out with promise, and Jared Leto and Matt Smith give excellent performances, Morbius is a poorly paced movie, and features terrible character development, too short of a runtime, and a lack of action scenes.
The post credits scene makes no sense at all, they better have Venom meet up with Vulture and Morbius to explain how Vulture got to a new universe! They are definitely building up to a Sinister Six project, but my goodness, even The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did a better job than this! I hope that this universe is Andrew Garfield's universe!

Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: Review
While the cast gives their all, the musical score is outstanding, the visuals are top notch, and it has a few surprising cameos and some very violent moments, the film is overall anti-climatic, lacking some serious madness, and the story line is very lackluster!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Review
Sonic 2 improves on the first one in every way, while still setting up a sequel that could be even better!
The story line was really good. It had a lot of ambition to it, and the pacing was really good as well. Sonic and Tails' friendship was well written as well. Knuckles was how I envisioned him, not the smartest, but not the dumbest either! Sonic becoming Super Sonic at the end was a dream come true. So glad the Chaos Emeralds have arrived!!
The acting and voice acting was outstanding. Jim Carrey once again stole the show as Dr. Robotnik/Dr. Eggman. Ben Schwartz was still great as Sonic. Colleen O'Shaughnessey has not lost her charm as Tails either. While Idris Elba was not my ideal choice for Knuckles, he exceeded my expectations!
The action scenes were outstanding. Sonic's battles against Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman were so outstanding. Loved every second of them!
In terms of a sequel, the end credits scene told me everything I need to know! Shadow the Hedgehog will arrive in the next one! So many possible routes they can take with this. G.U.N. was in the movie also, which tells me that Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnik, and Maria will be in it as well, via flashbacks!! I really hope that Jim Carrey will return as Dr. Robotnik. He is very important to the arrival of Shadow the Hedgehog! I also hope that Amy and Rouge will show up as well!
On a quick note. One spinoff I would love to see would be a show about Espio, Vector, Mighty, Charmy Bee, and Ray being detectives. It would be so funny watching them try and work together to try and solve cases!
